UPDATE: Thank you for voting. We are still taking time to consider the results and precisely how DBR will be implemented. We will be releasing DBR on Friday and are still listening to feedback from the community in the meantime.

At Dotabuff we’ve been working really hard on some amazing new features and are very close to announcing all of them. Along the way we’ve seen Dota 2 grow and reach many exciting milestones, and as a result we’ve also spent a ton of time scaling our site to make sure that we (and you) are happy with it’s performance.

One of the additions we are most excited to announce is a player rating system we’re calling Dotabuff Rating (DBR). We feel that this will fulfill a major gap that is currently lacking in Dota 2. Players are missing context for where they stand in the community, and how their hard work is paying off. Being able to see your personal Dotabuff Rating will let players finally have a way to track their improvement and we’re really excited to show everyone what their personal rating is. We’re confident that seeing your personal rating will absolutely improve what you will get out of this game and our website.

This leaves us with a big question; Would you like the opportunity to see the Dotabuff Rating of other players even if it means they can see yours? We’ve set up a poll to better understand where the community is on this issue.

Thank you so much for your time and feedback. We think Dota 2 has one of the best communities ever and want to keep it that way.
