position yourself away from where support will come from to gank you. If you are radiant sf and dire has a safe trilane shift to the right side of your lane and play very scared when they go missing. If you get dived spam ping and tell your team to TP, or pause and tell them to tp
as sf if you're worried at lv5 and above you can just nuke the wave and retreat to jungle
other than that my only advice is dont pick mids that are food if you get ganked a lot.
with a few words just get a set of wards place them on high ground and if u see enemy suports missing just keep an eye on map every 2 seconds
What if they smoke? Also what if its a invi roamer like bh? Can only better map awareness help me here?

You don't see them on the map - you start to think what's going on and start to hug your tower, play passive as much as possible.
Pretty much if you don't see them at all, it must be that's something is going on.
You don't just assume they might be woods or something. You assume they are on their way to kill you, so you hug tower or rotate, go your woods or something like that.
Its kinda hard to control lane as TA, at least from my perspective. (Noob Ta player here).
Pushing out lanes with psy-blades is kinda a problem here.
back in my days "high skill" was considered a good player nowaday standarts atleast 5.5k mmr

In High Skill you probably need to buy your own wards as from my experience supports in that skill bracket often forget to ward. You need to spend about half your time in mid for checking the minimap.
I kinda like high skill, for the server I play in the people are smarter and not dumb but obviously I get some people that aren't as good as others occasionally but I don't really mind. Also some have actually come to gank mid which is even better.

I hit high skill a few days ago, and I am getting ganked more often in mid. How do I avoid these ganks the best I can? Improve map awareness? etc
