the fact that u spammed certain heroes doesnt matter. the only way to higher bracket is by winning. the amount of wins needed depends on how low in the normal skill bracket you are. For example, consider high skill bracket starting at 3.2k hidden mmr, and everything that is lower than that is NS. if you are initially 3k, you need to win just 8 games in a row to get to HS; however if you are 1600, you need to get (wins-losses)=64.
hmmm ... i wonder what my mmr is then. I'm not level 13.
I get what your saying though. My first 20 or so games i was 50% winrate .. i assume that cailbrated me somewhere. based on more than just winrate, I'm assuming my KDA as it was quite aweful .. and ever since then I've been trying to climb out of this quote unquote trench.
How many games does it take to calibrate your unranked mmr?
Thanks! wow ... i looked at your dotabuff .. i saw a VHS game followed by all Normal skilled games and you won them all. all on your front page of dotabuff. I would think that puts you in at least high skill lol.
I think I'll just keep trying to win and learn heroes until i have a ranked MMR. I'll stop with this zeus picking unless it makes sense .. because I always seem to be matched with no couriers/wards/supports .. at least i can play support if i have to. wait for last pick!

I don't get how this really works. I kept winning games .. but i was always in the normal bracket.
I've been trying that whole using Zeus thing because of hero damage .. but I can't seem to win with Zeus and i'd rather win than artificially inflate my bracket.
Then I see a friend of mine (on his smurf) who doesn't win as much and hasn't played as much but constantly get placed in high/very high skill.
I've been practicing with a few heroes, then I playing them a lot to get them down, and will continue this way until I have more heroes under my belt. Is it possibly because I spammed a few hero's?
Maybe I'm just asking, how do I get into high/very high skill if winning games isn't the secret.
