My only guess is that matchmaking doesn't try very hard to balance the teams in normal mode matches, thus we get VHS when im only like 3.1k mmr solo
Happens to me as well.
The thing is in my VHS matches, everyone plays a lot better than my ranked games. It seems to be accurate. In my ranked games, there's very often that one FUCKING IDIOT. Be me, or a teammate, or an enemy. Rare to see that in VHS (normal) matches.

Hidden MMR is your MMR for non-ranked matches. Your hidden MMR is higher than your ranked MMR.
Initially when you create the account until when you reach level 50 you get your hidden MMR calibrated to a certain point.. That seems to have been in VHS.. When you start playing ranked, that hidden MMR is taken as a benchmark, but you don't get actually MMR in the same bracket..well unless you are really good you don't.. You generally drop brackets.. And your actual MMR and hidden MMR become 2 different things..
when u calibrate, both ur hidden mmr n ur ranked mmr are not too far apart(around the same bracket).
BUT, you play more of non-ranked matches thus increasing its hidden mmr.

So recently i've noticed that when I play ranked i get HS and sometimes NS matches. But if I play in normals I seem to almost always get VHS???
I know how NS, HS and VHS works in that its based on the average MMR of the players. But what I DONT understand is why I get VHS a lot in normal mode, but ranked is NS and HS.
