I think because there was a 2 stack on the other team with a high skill player it lowered the match average... seems like maybe it takes your solo mmr and bases your calibration games on that.. im not sure.
Im sure havoc or someshit will know.
lol, im 5.4k in both of my accounts and i dont even want to waste time on this recalibration shit, surely it wont exceed 5k.
@zdonfrank Id like to think it wont exceed 5k but it does make me wonder.... if i calibrated at like 5.3k or someshit it'd save me alot of time and effort... although after the 10 games id still need to play another 30 lmao.
D A N - do you actually need to calirate again - 10 games, and then you get to know what's your "new" MMR?
Then you have to play another 30, to gain ability to public it as your new mmr?
Yeah im guessing thats how it works basically. I just really wanna know if it goes above 5k though.
Doubt it will exceed the current threshold, but would be interesting to try though for some people, cause you never know, they might of made a mistake and forgot to set a limit to what MMR you can calibrate at knowing the Dota 2 dev team.
just do the grind in real mmr and make these seasonal ranked below 2k so ez quests and wagers
^
Damn that's a good idea. Will do :D
@Topic
Well, they advertised it as "reach your peak mmr", so I'm guessing that it should allow you to go higher than your current regardless of where you are at.
^Does each and every reset cost money? If so then Valve can make it so that the new MMR increases by 100~150 each reset so people will actually play a lot. Like the first reset at compendium lvl1 the second at lvl 10 3rf at 50 etc.
Its basically like giving "smurfs" a small dose of heroin every now and then to eventually make them addicted.
I am actually thinking now of a million ways to make money out of dota. There is just so many things you can do but They will lrobably be no more people playing in a month or two. Kappa.
this thing is so retarded
if 4k is the cap it will be unplayable cause:
-people higher than 4k who recalibrate 4k
-people lower than 4k boosted to 4k
basically everyone is a smurf
they should really make a separate queue
edit: how does this actually work? clicking on season mmr everyone has 0

So im 4.9k solo and just played a match on the new seasonal MMR ranked and it was a 4.1k average which seemed low as fuck.
You guys think they've probably capped it for below 5k? it'd be nice to see if anyone calibrates their seasonal mmr higher than 5k.
