Function behind Positions? in General Discussion
Ghastly Wail

Hey Guys, so i always play DotA2 just for Fun and alot with Friends.

I never went so far to learn much.
    Creep equilibrium etc.

Thats why i'm 1.9k MMR (i dont really mind).

Since i'm browsing Dotabuff alot lately and want to become better.

What Function, Heroes lie behind the Positions?

    So whats a

    Pos.1
    Pos.2
    Pos.3
    Pos.4
    Pos.5

    I think Pos.1 is Midlaner?

    Nylio

      1- Safelane carry
      2- Mid
      3- Offlane
      4- Greedy/roaming support
      5- Hard/poor support

      BASIIIIIIIIC

Farm priority. Position 1 usually thd carry, position 2 mid, 3 the offlane, 4 support, 5 support.
Sample position 4 earthshaker and position 5 jakiro. Both are support but jakiro will likely to allow es to have more farm for blink dagger and shoulder the warding and smoke forsome time.

but if you have an alch mid, he is pos 1 and u let a hero like jugger on safe to go for kills and such instead of farming jungle since alch will eat all ncs

Yah there is flexibility to what farm priority goes in what lane, the standard breakdown that Nylio posted is especially helpful just to think about how much farm different teammates will need before they can be effective.

If all of your team needs a lot of farm then the enemy can just win the game early, if none of your team needs farm you lose late. So it's important to have a good balance when you draft your team.
