We will not be releasing an API in the near future. As of right now we are dealing our own infrastructure and development. It isn't a priority to provide external support for an API and requests for data. We are confident that Valve will maintain their own API at some point.

eventhough dotabuff doesnt provide any API but i think its cool to make. For example, showing ur win/lose directly on ur profile in forums/websites
