I don't think it's viable, it might be in some ultra situational games but I wouldn't recommend getting Dagon on him.
if you get it early, but i mean after some core items (bottle,urn,pt,dagger/blademail) it works well.
your damage output starts to fall off a bit, or you just can't burst down an important support quick enough, thats when dagon comes in handy.
I used to go arcane > force staff > dagger, but that was back when stone pull stunned. I don't think it's viable anymore because the ult got nerfed, the combo got nerfed, the combo damage got nerfed etc, it's hard to get farm up and running on earth spirit and he needs it desperately.... So by the time you get dagon usually the impact is so minor.
450 games with ES and about 65% win rate but I don't play him much anymore, not because of all of the nerfs, but how they changed stone targetting.... it's messed up now, can't click on stones just the general area, makes it way harder to actually use skill and just makes it random.
A more viable option I've had a lot of success with is getting rod of atos, you can still do the pull roll kick the hero back to your teammates combo with it because the atos keeps them in place well enough for you to be able to do it accurately.
