I make it on every support hero if the enemy has heavy physical damage.
The active is just way too good in a team fight.

The active is retardedly good that it shields so much freaking damage. It blocks off 50 dmg each time. That doesn't sound much? Its an attack speed meta where people don't get dmg items until really late game. That 100 dmg sniper with mom+mael or that 150 Troll with SnY+EoS have their dps reduced by a large, large chunk.
Pretty hard to get excited by a crimson guard spectre. lots of better options for your money imo - even if you had already built a vanguard.
i get it sometimes on supports or offlane heroes against heavy physical damage.
and it works wonders against snipers and trolls.

Unless you have the +armor, no point in building crimson (unless vs a PL)
I usually build it on axe and stack up armor vs troll. With a skadi, sny build he does no dmg on me. It negates his 15k networth with a crimson and plate mail.
I build it on every tank or hero that is in front of the battle a lot, especially vs strong rightclickers. It's really good item.
i got it on earth spirit some games, didnt seem to awful to me (support), but yes brist, axe mb also undying and bara are best for this item.
but ofc you dont want it on rubick)

I never build this, I rarely play heroes that build it. But I was thinking, since troll and sniper these days seem to always go low dmg builds like mom, s&y for sniper and s&y, skadi, bkb for troll, wouldn't guard be really effective in countering them? You could mitigate a third or so of their dmg in the mid game for that 10 seconds which is a pretty long while. I know axe often carries it, but now I think it might even be great on a spectre. What are some other heroes worth building it on?
