Personally I use around 2800~3000.
600 is wtf dude, how much do you drag the mouse around? Doesn't it get exhausting to game?
Using the same mouse nice, I use the common setting when all 3 lights are on (might be 600 dpi as well)
@Tomiyaaaaa You need to leave pointer speed at default, which is 6 I believe. This prevents acceleration. If you want to increase or decrease dpi you need a mouse that supports it and you can do so via its software.
I use 3k dpi for all games and general use, and adjust in game sensitivity as needed.
Thanks guys for a moment I tought to be wierd with 600 - 850 dpi lol.
I feel like the slightest touch of the mouse will bring you to the edge of the screen with something over 2k...
can you show me your setting window aimstrong? I am really curious
@all
I really dont like the mouse acceleration, I find it problematic to use when you want to be precise
2k dpi and some of my friends already call that too slow
Also, I need it for doing graphic stuff as well (can't do that with low DPI or it becomes very exhausting)
@Afeect
Thanks buddy :)
@ok and Pilot
While I understand that in some specific situations like your job it may be too slow I wonder why do you keep the same setting inside dota.
Isnt it too fast? how can u be precise?
You just get so used to it that going slower means not being able to do as much as you'd want to. If you click around all day, you're bound to always hit the right stuff even when inside a different setting I guess :p
ahahah, it's possible yeah :)
but still, it feels weird to have it that fast, I'm not sure I would be able to do it.
@Afeect, I've noticed you disabled the "enhanced pointer precison" any reason? the mouse feels smoother with it
If you're thinking of increasing your DPI though, you should probably do it in increments instead of doing it in big bursts. Ultimately, it should be where you're most comfortable though. Personally, a higher dpi would help me go across the screen better, so it should have its advantages.
I'll see how i do with 850 and afterwards I may try to increase, thanks everyone for the input
i have a small radius in which i can use my mouse (pad too), thats why i use high dpi + i got used to it
I have QCK Mass mouse pad so it's like 32x28CM or something and it's enough for my sens.
I used to play CS with 400 DPI and 1 sens so if I wanted to do 360 I needed to swipe my mouse more than 2 times maybe even 3 :d on my mouse pad :D Then I switched to dota and it was impossible to move my camera with mouse so I used WASD for it XD later I changed my DPI to 800 and then to 1800 and got used to it and stopped using WASD, but then I bought new mouse and 1800 felt way too high for me, so I'm using 900 now and it feels like 1800 on the old one.
Also @ yoshi I found about it. "Pointer precision is just a polite way of saying mouse acceleration. In case you don't know, what it means is essentially that the speed you move your mouse affects sensitivity. Moving the mouse one inch left slowly doesn't move the cursor (or turn you) as far as moving it one inch left quickly." I never turned it off, but I'm glad it's off. :D
mine is the exact same as 0.0's settings
I actually just got a razer on thursday and it's my first gaming mouse so it's kind of a bitch to get used to right now
@Afeect
shit son, then i gotta deactivate that, maybe i might feel a different
@Allison
do you think you'll reduce the speed with a larged mouse pad?
@positive mental
what size is your resolution?
i dont think so because ive already been playing like this for several years. anyways im pretty sure this stuff doesnt matter too much when it comes to dota, just personal preference. its the same thing as cs players where sensitivity actually matters, maybe. there are pro players who use really low sens and swipe the mouse really fast and multiple times when doing 180s or some with high sens that move the mouse for like 1-2 cms and do a 180
its insane now that i think that you're using such a low dpi with acceleration off yoshi
do you swing your arms around when you dota
Too slow sensitivity strongly affects gameplay. I gained 500 mmr in 2 weeks just by changing mouse settings.

So, I've been playing like pure garbage since long now and I find myself struggling lately as well with my mouse sensitivity.
I've always kept it pretty low, around 600 dpi or less, but now I've moved it around 850.
I'm curious to know what is your general setting when it comes to dota?
