Depends on a lot of factors. One important is that your IRL stuff affect your mmr actually more than people think.
Next is, casuall or non casuall gamer. And last but not least, obviously, tallent for game.

there s a clear correlation between how close you are to 4.2k mmr, and how autistic you are
anyone who is married automatically deduct 1k mmr. And if you have kids it's like 500 mmr per kid. Cus damn no time ever, you'll never have the focus for dota.
Real Life has A LOT of impact on mmr.
Yes, there is skill and intelligence.
But there can be many other factors such as
sleep
roommates
parents
bf/gf (that gets annoyed when you play Dotes all day)
may be your dog feels sick
some emergency phone call
May be the dota player has a kid that did something stupid (teen), and wants a lot of attention
May be they are feeling a little ill, headache, flu etc..
May be they had a very stressful day, or an argument with someone close that fucks with their focus if they play a game while their emotions are a little fucked
This list is to name a few, but all that shit and more has so much impact on how your game will go that it is not even funny.
I had an ex from like 2 years ago, who would argue with me and start shit on purpose while I was in the middle of a fucking game, after a hard day's work, this was when I was stuck in 2k, and trust you me, I was very distracted. Sometimes the same shit happens with my current gf when she wants more attention than normal. But I have grown wiser, and only play Dota when I know I will have no distractions.

But yea. So many professionals look so nerdy and soft af lol. Most are introverts. U need to have some propensity for analysis. Seems a lot are good at math.
There's also a correlation the higher your mmr the more autistic u tend to be.
^ I hear this one a lot. I am quite introvert. But the pros do look unappealing. Except for Dendi and RTz, they look like they can get some even without the fame and glory.

True, my dad have been so distrubtive when i play doto. I have almost 10 abandon because of him. I have over 15 abandon for my parents. But the biggest issue for me right now is shit ping and packet loss

So i ve reached the conclusion, that the higher the mmr you got, the softer you are
Like the guy who pushes stuff out in the streets with the knife in his pocket is 2k,
while the skinny polite nerd with the funny glasses is 5k
