7.03 Drums on Agi cores. in General Discussion

With the item being 4 last hits cheaper, is it now worth it to buy Drums on heroes that used to such as Juggernaut, Spectre, Ember, and Medusa?

I've always liked Drums as an item, and felt that it was always a great transition stat item until Dragon Lance and 7.00 HotD came along.

Personally, after a couple of games I've had great success with it on both Bloodseeker and Gyro. On Gyro, especially, the added mana pool and mana regen coupled with the fact that you can speed your whole team in to your Call Down makes the item feel so damn solid on him on your way to Aghs+Maelstrom.

Also, if you DO buy Drums on your agi cores, do/should you get Aquila before as well or is the item overkill of an early item because Drums also gives you mana regen?

        Drums > HotD?

Someone test it out I can't play.

For cores, it's definitely better than HotD as it is now, at least in most cases.

Pretty sure drums will replace hotd

I think Drums is a very active item and needs to be used as many times as possible in early game for it to shine
While Agi heroes you mentioned mostly need quite a lot of farm, oh you veil on ember so it's enuff.
Int and Str initiators can use it well

I don't want to work I just want to bang omme drum all day

It's just an expensive ineffective aquila. Its worth it for the active buff and it synergizes with manta carriers (except AM) but its unproductive for stats. You basically get more stats with a Ring of Aquila + Wraithband.

                      Drum of Endurance: 1655g
                      Int: 3 = 36 mana and 0.12 mana regen
                      Str: 6 = 120 hp and 0.18 hp regen
                      Agi: 6 = 6 dmg, 0.86 armor and 6 att. speed
                      Dmg: 3 + 6 = 9 dmg
                      Mana Regen: 50%

                      Aquila + Wraith Band: 1470g (485g+985g)
                      Int: 6 (3+3) = 72 mana + 0.24 mana regen
                      Str: 6 (3+3) = 120 hp and 0.18 hp regen
                      Agi: 15 (6+9) = 15 damage, 15 att. speed and 2.14 armor
                      Dmg: 13 (10+3) + 15 = 28 dmg
                      Armor: 2 + 2.14 = 4.14 armor
                      Flat Mana Regen: 0.55 + 0.24 = 0.79 mana regen

You basically get 3 more int, same amount of str, 9 more agi, 19 more dmg, 9 more att. speed and 3.28 more armor if you buy Aquila + Wraith rather than Drums. And it costs 185g less.

I would say Agi heroes should go for Aquila and Wraith band if you want to be cost efficient for your early game. Drums is certainly more valuable if you're going for early game 5-man pushes. Dragon Lance, on the other hand, is core on most ranged agi heroes (also meepo) so I would advice to rush Lance to maximize its stats and added attack range rather than going Wraith + Aquilla if you're having a hard lane.

My opinion on Drums haven't changed,WC3 DOTA up to DOTA 2 7.xx patch Drums is an okay early game item and you should not really think too much about it since on the end of the day its just an early item and it wont have any game impact whatsoever in late game, if you want to itemize Drums then go ahead.

@Positive Player the only moment you buy extra WBand after Aquilla is when you are hilariously outfarmed, otherwise that is a really bad idea, I mean buying multiple WBand is already dead.

Wraith and aquila dont give movement speed?

                          matrice

the creep + life aura is already better than drum on every single carry.

The +2 all stats and +20as is just the cherry on top

                            UNIT 731

I recently tried it on TB

Drums+Aquila +6 regen talent makes TB a ungankable hero.
