Treads bf manta almost always, vlads is ok if u have problems against blademail
Then after manta almost always abyssal unless u need linkens more
Bkb when needed
About Getting brown boots and rushing for Bfury :
AM either has a good lane with free farming, in which case he can push lane and farm side camps. PT gives great farming speed and damage, and the ability to trade well and even completely kick the offlaner out and have kill potential. so getting PT first is better.
But If AM has crowded lane, which happens alot in lower brackets like mine, PT is just a must in order to trade well and burn enemy mana and to run around and get last hits.
so either way get PT first.
Don't forget Ring of Health before PT (unless you have an incredibly easy lane and need better trading even faster)
If lane requires even more HP regen get Headress too. headress+ROH means you don't give a damn about harassing. It can be turned into vlads later.
Whether to get Vlads:
Vlad helps with farming ancients and if not facing many disables even allows you to join some small fights without Manta. It also helps with HP regen just after escapes which should happen alot if you're split pushing, so you can keep farming even with low HP. but If your Bfury timing is late don't go for it because it delays Manta and an AM with no manta is even worse than a support in teamfights.
What I truly hate are people who don't get boots at all on AM, battle fury "rush".
When you get power treads(you should btw, for all cases), please tread switch. It pains me to watch people not do so. (Inb4 all the blue star overlords say "someone who tread switches in normal skill?", yes I do)
Oh wait, time to pitch my rage-inducing alternative build again! Treads into Vlads into Maelstrom, then proceed to Manta from there. XD

Do you mean just switching them to agility, or do you mean, like, switching to int while blinking to camps then switching back to agility while actually attacking the creeps?
switch them to inteligence before blinks, and to Agility right after.
Also switch to Strength right before impacts.
yes
and switching them to str before you get stunned or when you arent hitting back
and keeping them on green when you are passively regening
sometimes if im not looking around ill cycle red just before the big ancient dragon hits me but this is definitely not worth the mental energy
PMS into Treads into BF into Vanguard/Yasha into Manta into Abyssal into Aghs/BKB/butter
No need for vlads 90% of time
i can usually hit a 15-18 minute bfury if i skip treads, but i feel like the additional trading/farming power that treads give you is a good trade-off for delaying fury a bit.
especially because, once i get manta, i can just 1v5 every fight and end at ~40 minutes because power spikes
^apparently u cant: https://www.dotabuff.com/matches/3301570979 lol
shhhhh we don't talk about that
Man it's quite baffling that how wrong you are about the hero's concept
Get your ass some high mmr replays, check them out, and apply common sense instead of "learning by experience" blindly
Treads and a pms. Pms is too often negelcted, it lets you basically ignore enemy attacks in lane, especially once you get that ring, and lets you zone out many offlaners too just running at them.
Then bfury, then it's debateable whether you get vlads or not. If you get vlads that's when, then manta, then linkens/aghs if you need it, then it's choices again- abyssal or heart usually, butter or mkb.
Get your ass some high mmr replays,
so generally any replay above 5k, or something like within the 5k-6k range (for example)?

I know the basic itemization of anti mage, but I want to know when exactly to get each item. Do you go brown boots and then straight for fury, or do you build power treads first? Do you get vlad's before manta, vice versa, or do you not get vlad's at all?
Just curious.
