If in my match some1 picks tech ! I will report that player for sure ,i always save 1 report for tech pickers ! Ty
He's not as annoying as the old techies, but I think lots of people still carry the bad memories of those games and it will take a long time before hatred of the hero starts to decrease. It is possible though. Heroes like Riki used to be widely hated and seen as nothing but a low skill pubstomper. The rework to riki has kinda gotten rid of that opinion although it did take time
I think Techies needs to be pushed into a slightly more active role, so at the very least his own team doesn't see him as a burden who forces them to 4 vs 5. (While this viewpoint isn't necessarily true, it is how a large number of people view the hero.)
Its just cuz he's yellow isn't it... I don't play techies often but when I do, its because i want to. and who are you shitheads to tell me not to have fun playing a game picking the hero I want. Understandable in ranked. But theres this guy on youtube thats about 3.5k and mainly plays techies. And that hero is fucking OP if you play him right.
I prefer to skill Blast Off first usually, because level one mines do no damage, and at least that way you have a bit of escape / burst level 1. I also spec Remote Mines at 6 so I can start taking in kills (I try to solo offlane Techies so I have a level advantage, and 4 or 5 mines can easily kill most supports and carries early game). Mana boots work for me since they can be disassembled into things like Octarine or Bloodstone, but I know a lot of Techies like tranqs. I always go Euls. It's great for timing a suicide or placing a mine under an enemy, plus escape in some situations.
I'm not a high skill player but I like Techies. Good luck my dude.

I am a very casual dota player, and calibrated at 600mmr ( yes that's 2 zeroes not 3) for solo. I've started playing techies a lot, usually whenever there isn't a TA or AM in the game. At my level this is often the case, and I've climbed to the heady height of ~800.
Techies seems to really have dropped off in the recent patch( in terms of popularity), and his lack of presence in the pro scene isn't really helping. What do you think needs to change about the hero for him to see play? Do you think it's possible for the hero to not have the stigma of cheese from when you could stack reds?
Also, feel free to post techies stories and questions in regards to how to play him. I have a few myself.
Blast off or proximity mines first?
Ultimate at 6 or max Blast off @ Prox mines 1st? ( meaning you pick up level one of greens at 11)
Mana boots vs tranqs?
Aether lens or Euls?
