blink is situational, but once you start getting it - you will never again deny yourself such a luxury of mobility that blink provides
Imo its core on invoker, I get it almost every single game - unless we have alot of other catch heroes.
Allows you to solokill people, position yourself better for tornado combos, perfect ice walls, just overall core item
/edit, idk how it is in legend - but in higher games you NEED blink dagger almost every game
after few nerf to blink cd , i dont really like getting it on almost most heroes. i would just get eul for mobility on invoker instead
Hahahaha same does low tier really have same mind :D
Actually if u maximize blink dagger potential its really great item( i watch my friend invoker with 70℅wr and buy dagger almost every game)
It's needed if you need to burst people and it's difficult to catch people out or walk up to them.
Effective usage of blink is what separates the good invokers from the great ones in my opinion.
@StoryTime speaks the truth.
It just opens up more options for you.
I'm not a Voker player, but Linkin isn't always core for him imo. There are times where Euls gives you better options both offensively and defensively along with that yummy regen and run/walk.
You probably don't need it every single game imo, but it let's you position to cast ur spells better, and that's all of what invoker is abt
invoker does need one mobility item. either a blink or a forcestaff. I personally go for the forcestaff. But one of my favourite builds is inspired by a Dendi build against Fnatic. Blink+Staff, catch me if you can :D
On invoker mobility and positioning is everything. So the more the merrier I feel. Definitely need one of the two, if not both.
blink dagger ruins your tornado combo. specifically when you blink FIRST
(my bad) in front of your enemy. true invoker players understand this :)

I just want honest and simple answers-- not trying to start an argument or fight and it might sound stupid but what's the use of blink dagger on Invoker?
Of course I know it has utility for initiation like coldsnap -> forge, or tornado -> emp -> ice wall but is it really a necessary item on invoker? I know you can also chase really well with a blink dagger so this question isn't about what use it has on him but on HOW useful it is for the 2250 gold price.
I never go blink dagger on invoker, instead of blink I go straight to linkens and get it about 25-26 minutes with BoTs and Aghs because I never really found it useful since if I blink in and the enemy counterinitiates im dead. And being invoker they really target their silences and stuns at you.
Without blink, I can easily kill and even survive with linkens (by 26 mins), shivas or octarine (by 30-31) and shivas or octarine (by 36). I basically played invoker my whole life without blink cause I could just do really well without it (check my games idk.)
Having the early timing on linkens really helps with alot of enemies along with the mana regen for farming (I get like 650-750 avg gpm). I also get active (not just sunstrikes) across the map when I get BoTs (19-20 mins).
Of course, I'm asking cause I think I may be missing something but I do really well without it :T
