I dont think mbps matters in dota . If u get ~100 latency or ping , u are good to play .

Dota doesnt require too good of a connection. Though with a slow connection speed you wont be able to do much in the background

i played dotka with 500kbps internet a year back. Now rockin with 25 mbps

so yea no problem i guess if your family members arent leaching bandwidth
