I am convinced that OG.Ana is the GOAT of DOTA 2 in General Discussion

To me, ANA is the best carry in DOTA 2 history winning back to back TI tournaments at a very young age. Below is a video showing the top 8 heroes he used to destroy his opponents. He is very humble and let his game do the talking.

      Any thoughts?

His skill is undeniably good but everyone will have his own subjective opinion on the best carry(pos1/pos2) on dota at the moment.

For example, Ana made Io carry popular causing her to be nerfed.

But other players have shown great skills like:
        - Miracle making popular the Doppelganger tanky illusion kiting that still makes the difference between a good and a bad PL. Recently, all pudges mid are copying his build with phase boots and heap from lvl 1 as well.
        - Sumiya making popular the snap, nado, meteor combo low level on invoker mid whereas grimorum was more playing with snap golems sunstrike combo
        - [...]

You'll have only subjective point of views on this topic and no one will deny that Ana is a strong core. End of the story.
What kind of answer are you expecting on this thread except 'Ana is god I want to marry him OMFG HE IS SO GOOD LOLOLOL I HAVE POSTERS OF HIM IN MY ROOM HE IS IN MY DREAM' or 'Ana is a good carry' ? xD

I agree that Ana is extremely skilled and is definitely one of the best cores currently.

Not so sure about that "humble" part, I've heard he can be incredibly toxic in his games. Also, I saw on his account a month back or so he had a game as Gyrocopter in an Australian pub where he got like 180 kills as a 5 stack.

That means he fountain camped them for like 20+ minutes. The equivalent of Lebron James going into a local basketball court with a crew and completely destroying the other team. It's just bad form. Even if Ana and his team were going to stomp, end it in 20 minutes like we know you can and don't drag out the other team's misery. Playing with your food like that with low level players as a pro is some super weak shit.

You both made some good points. I guess it can only be measured through his achievements. OG was playing very bad when ANA left and surprised everyone during TI that they can be a dominant team with ANA around so I truly believe he is the difference maker in OG and not a lot of players can do that. He should have been the MVP in TI9 except it was based on votes and the crowd voted for Topson. I guess the only way to prove it is by winning more TI

The problem is the formulation 'the best' which is subjective and a superlative.

Grimorum was considered the best invoker at his time, now some people consider it's Sumiya. But which one is the best invoker ? One learnt from the other but the other discovered everyting from scratches.

See how tricky the question is ?

PS : Btw, Miracle is the best :P #team_miracle

                Big daddy is best .

                Dunning-Kruger-Doto

Saying Goat is just Bullshit. For many many years Burning was considered the best carry player, yet he did not win a TI.

Comparing the old legends with the new players purley based on "performance" is kinda unfair. Game has changed. Many things had to be discovered. Just watch a football game from the 80's or a boxing match from the 70's. They would not stand a chance against a modern team/boxer. You always gotta judge a perfomance based on the general lvl of the time. Just watch the first TI's. Players back then where maybe 4-5k mmr compared to todays standards.

7th graders learn the pyhtagoras theorem and yet it was a ground shaking discovery at his time.

If you ask me, who was the most dominant player on his position in his "prime" (that was way too short), i would opt for Bulldogg. He played only 2 heroes at most, and yet teams could not find a way to deal with him. He kinda popped out of no where, and won a TI shortly after by just spamming 2 heroes. Bulldoggs performance forced volvo to make huge changes on bear, furion, backdoorprotection, glyph and many many more.

If you ask: "How do I get better at dota?"

Ppl respond: "Spam heroes, have small heropool."

Bulldogg was the one making this way to play popular.
