btw i think those are great spots, good vision and hard to deward (out of range from cliff sentries)
It's relative. If the enemy team has a zeus. Go for unusual spots. They won't get dewarded. Otherwise try couple of usual spots and see if they get dewarded.
In case they do, let your team know about the same and tell them you will put them in unusual spots for obvious reasons. Be polite while communicating the same. Use mic if possible.
If they do not get dewarded, you hit a jackpot. Usual ward spots are very effective. They reveal so much and give you so much information about enemy movements.
As for raging players, mute them. They are not upto any good anyway.
Keep doing good job let idiots report u they will eventually stop playing dota or u raise in mmr to get rid of em
you play in normal skill so why would you ever consider what your teammates have to say? they aren't good at the game themselves and the sooner you do your own thing instead of listening to retarded apes the quicker you will be in high skill.
If they flame, say something along the lines of, well, I don't see you buying wards, so lick my asshole

I'm getting flamed every game and possibly even reported sometimes because I place wards in places people ususally dont place them.
What I see in my games is pos 5s always placing wards in the high ground spots with the eye sign or the ones in the middle of the high grounds at the shrines. It's so freaking stupid, they get dewarded as soon as your heros retreat past the river, but they always place them there and spend a bazillion gold on warding/dewarding cat and mouse game.
I might be completely delusional and the people flaming me are right, I get flamed every single game so i'm not sure anymore.
