depend on the game,it is basic dota to build item on what ur team need
and i started buying qblade on the offlane heroes and my winrate increased. There're multiple ways of tide to be played. Be that tanky front like making items like shiva, greaves, dagger, vlads and so on and tank everything. And there's the other tide where you go dmg items like phase boots, daedalus and other carry items (i haven't played carry tide so i cant tell). As for making blink first item it is situations. Do you remember how everyone started buying axe dagger as first item? If not needed now now you can go dagger as 2,3rd item max. Same is with tide or cent.
i mean generally i think blink rush on tide is committing too hard to make ur 3 min cd ability really good, unlike blink on low cd catch heroes like axe or whatever. u cna probably just buy blink later after 1-2 early game items if u need it.

I used to play offlane Tide going the traditional Blink, vlads, greaves, pipe, shivas, refresher. I have changed boots of choice to phase boots and skipped blink dagger to improve timings on other items. This made my Tidehunter more than just a blink and ravage hero, he is now a high damage right click. Unlike Slardar, Centaur, Magnus, and Enigma, Tidehunter's Disable has an incredible range and can usually hit those far away without the need for blink. Phase boots and his extra movement speed also make it easier for him to chase and bait enemies to counter initiate once they over-commit. A token blight stone helps lower the armor on all the enemies you hit with Anchor Smash.
Tidehunter is better played as a frontline Tank/counter initiator/manfighter. But I think the blink makes people play him like an enigma and wait for the right time to blink and ravage instead.
