Resizing using GD libraries is a non-trivial drain on resources. The problem was that one of hero pictures on dotabuff (Abadonn) was randomly twice the size of the rest.
.LiMpIcH™ had a new base to contribute, but was just touching up on it. Hopefully we can use it soon.
As far as I am aware, z-index is a CSS thing to control the ordering of display. If you meant something along the lines of specifying a width and height for images, then no... that requires GD library resizing.
When we get the new base, it would be great to have a second base in the same dimensions and layout. The more choice users have, the better. =P

The png has to be rendered. There is no css trickery because you can't link to that as a picture. I believe .LiMpIcH™ was making something less wide.
Either way, he has had a chance to submit something (he mentioned he has had PC troubles) and although I am still more than willing to accept anything made, I will open it back up to anyone to contribute the new default base.
Go nuts Atilili. We want the same info on the sig, and in roughly the same format, but you can play with everything else. Keep in mind that I have to work out the pixel offsets for the overlay, so putting borders where things go will help me position accurately.
The new default base will determine what the secondary bases have to conform to.
We will have to see what Atilili comes up with. People complained that they did not know what the numbers in the brackets meant, in the very first version I released. >_>

You can then go to the watch -> recent, and search for that match ID and play. (266675550) The url I posted previously is the same thing, but will require you to extract it, and rename it to the proper name.
Everything is flakey with dota. I can simply just double click on DEM files to play them... but you would need to google how to set file extensions. Please start a new thread if you have further questions, as this has severely side-tracked from the intended discussion point of the signatures.

The signature is just scraping of Dotabuff (with permission of-course, which is why public code is not really appropriate) and caching using the mentioned technologies.
I see. I asked you which languages you used, but I guess its nothing wild, like some strange framework but only normal php (with GD), sql and ajax?
Anyway, seems you got skills kid ;) It won't be long until people start asking you to do something similar for them for cash :)
And yes, playing Dota2 is fun and better than development... sometimes, but Dota2 doesn't pays bills ;[ Unless you win a tournament or smth :D
I have a normal job and this is very much a hobby. I thought I confirmed that I used the mentioned languages. No need for Ajax though as they are essentially static images.

Could you make the generated image a bit smaller? Playdota (obviously the most popular use of your tool) seems to resize images wider than 500px, resulting in an annoying bar; surely its possible to cut a few pixels here and there to make it fit?

Did a first try for u, i used dota 2 website colors. Ask me for the empty pattern on steam i'll send it to u.
The hard part are heroes avatar, taking so much place.

Feel free to make adjustments to the dimensions if you want. That looks pretty nice though.
You could also only use "Best Heroes" so it does take less space. Usually, your most played heroes are also your best ones.
