8 wins and 2 losses would be 150 mmr gained. Calibration gave you an extra 50 mmr :)

Someones temporary seasonally changing MMR changed too much during "calibration" so now I guess we have the "non-calibration" from Season 1 back...

I'm still bemused that Valve didn't understand that when reddit said they wanted recalibration they meant they wanted free mmr.

They could've just given everyone a random 0-1000 extra mmr and everyone would've been happy.

Facepalmingly fantastic that they manage to piss off one half of those who calibrated and then pissed off the other half with the recalibration.

can we ask Valve to make total annulation of MMR to 0 for everyone and then look how it goes from there? :D

I honestly think they should separate calibration from normal ranked. I get more fucked over than anything cuz i got uncalibrated heralds playing in my 2k games. Its really agrovating, i'm by no means a good player, but its really annoying when people have no clue what they're doing and end up 0 17 (my last 2 weeks of playing dota tbh)

Well recalibration games can't work because everyone thinks they deserve at least the mmr that they have.

What are needed are streak bonuses. Even if you just won/lost 25+5xwin(loss) streak. mmr would quickly sort itself out.

Alternatively, you could have one month seasons and the top/bottom 10% of each medal (ignore the 1-4 parts) get promoted/relegated (maybe top 1% can jump two medals.) each month start everyone in the same medal at the same mmr.

there are plenty of ways of doing it that work in real sports. problem is their recalibration was crowd-sourced to reddit....
