Team Prize Money Distribution? in General Discussion

Just wondering how it all works. Im sure for all teams it different but lets take Liquid for example. They just won $550,000, i highly doubt each player to walk away with $111,000 each. Is it even distribution? Do mid/carry players get more? Do the more popular players get more? How much do the people behind the scenes take?

    Any info appreciated:)

      Do mid/carry players get more?

      Hahahahahhahaha.
We are hitting delusion levels that shouldn't even be possible.

seriously, though. Sponsors take a bunch. It depends on what kind of contracts are made, but usually players end up with like 60% if I remember correctly(listened to Bulldog talking about this). Also pretty sure income tax affects this monny so there's that.

I doubt if tax affects it that much cause then for example in Europe goverment wins more prize than players
And also sponsors get shit 💩 the team crew get some % through probably the money is technically given to team leader i guess

Damn why would players get so little (60%)

Don't forget puppey took 10% lol

I think kuroky got the most of liquid's prize pool

players should not get a whole money-prize, they should not take anything at all! They must have a salary and that is all and the owners/managers of the team get prize or who ever invested in the team in a first place

When dota was immature players would've just divvied the prize money up but professional players of sports don't directly receive prize money and dota is going the same way. salary+win bonus+percentage of image rights.

at the moment plenty of teams still do the former but it won't be long until it all becomes the latter.

professional (e)sports aren't about winning or losing - its all about the brand. (which of course winning can help!) I'm sure Na'Vi earns more than plenty of Tier 1 teams for example.
