medal has nothing do to with MMR in General Discussion

So in a nutshell, I played on my old smurf since this acc is 6months banned for my very positive mental attitude behaviour. The things I noticed where:

    - Calibrated at Legend 2.
    - Later recalibrated Legend 5
    - Lost 4 games in a row due to shitty teammates, but had superior stats, which for some reason gave me Ancient 1
    - After crushing lots of games, suddenly out of nowhere from Ancient 1 to Ancient 3.

In a nutshell, even if you lose some games, if you destroy people but lose you apparently gain medalpoints.

medal has nothing to do with mmr unless youre below immortal 4Head

            Jacked

so you are saying your mmr dropped but your medal went up?

Yes, I lost 4 games in a row, gained a medal and after grinding mmr i suddenly jumped over a medal. There are some factors other than MMR.

Sounds like your mmr didn't really move but the boundaries dropped

Nope party is calibrated and stayed the same. Lost 75 MMR gained ancient 1 rank, Gained 300 mmr suddenly aicnent 3 without ancient 2 out of nowhere in the last game where I won the last 25 of the 300MMR.

There are some hidden values that determine the medals.

I think as people calibrate, the mmr required for a medal drops. Probably because they keep percentages same like top 1% = divine+ or top 10% = ancient+. It's just that those who play the most on average are high mmr and calibrate first so percentages aren't entirely correct and don't represent the skill of whole player base.
This is based on this https://www.opendota.com/distributions
Last season over 6 million people calibrated and over time the percentages went towards what I mentioned before.

so you say the percentage below our medals that shows progress of our mmr is a feckin bs?
