Been wondering that myself, to me it seems to be shit because its still not enough mana. Perhaps it would work with a different build other than rushing orchid?
he's fucking squishy i don't see any decent use for it other than an escape uphill when out of mana
Ehm I dont know but if you use it in your ulti-form you should not take the damage from the soulring and the percentage mana cost is calculated before you use it so the extra mana should bring you a lot further.

If you lack that much about mana, go arcane which will lead to bloodstone later.It really gives storm enough mana and hp.And yes i think his primary damage comes from his skills not stats (my opinion).
He is like 800 hp, making him 650 hp is bad I think, more mana, more squishy too.
And later on the 150 mana won't have a difference, like when lvl 11 or above ur ulti takes much more mana.
If you are fast enough to use while invulnerable its great. If not its bad. Storm has the potential to do everything while invincible, but its hard to actually do it. Soul lets you extend to take even riskier, harder fights sooner with less farm. It lets you push the limits.
I can see why it would appeal to EE. But overall I think its probably a bad idea for most players.

this... i played with lothars, mjjlor, stats only , remnant max first , vortex first, no vortex at all... everything is funny :D
i prefer to get my orchid or bloodstone earlier so i would rather not go soulring
but if ur reallt desperaqte for that early mana to get into fights go for it
I am 100% sure u would lose hp if u use soul ring while in lightning bolt form.
It would help a lot early game as I said.
That is from minute 5-10 maybe, later it doesn't do much as the 150 extra mana would let u go further maybe an uphill distance.
And it delays ur core items (orchid/bloodstone/bkb/etc).

anyone with 2000 mmr can do anything you fucking retard, i could pick furion and rush dagon, eblade and refresher orb and kill the opposite team with ease because of the low skill in 2000 mmr range

soul ring is pretty cheap and good if you can't bottle that's about it. And you're fighting good pubs and been letting them escape with low HP etc...
I would just save for bloodstone and arcane and orchid more. Cuz once you get decent item that items gonna be sold. The only viable hero I can see with soul ring is sven & tiny and maybe WK for that stun/ult mana requirements.
When EE does something wonky or strange, there is usually a very good reason for it, and the decision is based on a game plan and teamwork with an exceptionally good team.

I am sure he has a reason why he THINKS it is good but there is a reason why the top mid players do not get it.
He usually safelanes Storm, so maybe it's a way to compensate for not getting to bottle up runes?
Seems like Core against a Nyx or any other manaburns, like it saved my arse so many times last game. +1 would recommend it.

It seems decent, but 800 gold for 150 mana, you can get like a pointbooster for not soh much more.
