Yeah. And i didn't like the magic immunity change too. I use the familiars as cover for spells too (causing misclick on familiars instead of heroes. Saved me from frostbites,chain frosts & spells) but know that won't happen anymore since you can't target familiars w/ spells.
From 295 to 285 ms. Lowered magic & physical resistance. I guess Icefrog wants him out of the drafts for now.

The nub of the OP's strat is that you basically have to submit yourself to abuse by your own teammates, and smile while you're at it. It often turns up in the form of the "you've got a shit attitude" counterargument to people who complain about being matched with retards. I tried the strat and it does work if you're ready to stomach (a lot of) games with some seriously abusive teammates that make bots seem more human in comparison.
This requires some serious patience. Oh and you can forget about picking your favorite heroes, especially if you have a liking for carries.
just wait a couple of days for 6.80 to kick in completely so their 5k rating disappears, look at bogidota and van arts dotabuff, those gypsies cant even win 1 game since 6.80 came out and it wont surprise me if they would do the solo ranked exploit to stack vs solo queue players
could someone post interview with gabe where someone asks about rating system and reason behind shutting down dbr and he says something about current rating system being crappy and valve working on better one ? :DDDD
hmm...just one issue with OP's suggestions: from what i've observed, players who specialize in a few heroes/a specific role tend to outperform those who don't. then again, it may just be that there is a MMR gap and people in the upper brackets will need to adopt different tactics.

lol how is 3.9k elo hell? I'm sitting at 3.2k.. so I have nothing to look forward too with 700 rating gain? Cuz I assume 4.4-4.7k is a good rating for pub level.

i don't know what you mean by "look forward to" with higher mmr. if u want ez games without starting a smurf account, feel free to feed for 20 games in a row, and then u could possibly pick whatever you want and still go 20-0.
the problem is this mentality of playing for mmr...instead of playing to improve/playing for fun. mmr is simply a reflection of ur current performance.
@ wraithseekers dunno, i've asked a bunch of my friends in 5k and they're all doing pretty well. one of them started off at 5.5k and he's at 5.8k now just because he plays -cd mode and drafts a bunch of retard proof heroes that are hard for his pub teammates to fail with (tide, veno, seer, etc.)
IMHO "Luck" plays the biggest role in this ranked shit making.
1st you have to have better win rate then play MMR !

valve should introduce a way to unvouch players in ranked
if they lose the 1v1, they lose 1000 rating

Well this attitude (usually me going support) brought me up from 2200 to 2500, I'm not the best but I'm doing better.
