Vanguard is viable on other heroes besides BB. Its just a limited few.
@hatsune- vanguard Veno is old school shit, most notably Trixi tried to bring it back from back in the day when he was actually an amazing player and dominated with slither.
Veno and vangaurd in dota 2 do not mix.
Don't tell me you get vanguard on carries. A casual vita
booster is enough, so you can turn it into
HoT later on.

Yeah you're right, I forgot about Axe, he's also fine with Vanguard(Situational) but other then that, I hope you're not one of the players who use 'x' itembuild just because "the pros do it".
There must be a reason to buy Vanguard. This item is a good counter to Phantom Lancer. Generally if you often find yourself crowded with illusions, treants, spiders, wolves, necronomicon's skeletons etc. You may consider Vanguard.

Damage reduction from Vanguard works BEFORE armor reduction, so if you up against Slardar / Dazzle / Shadow Fiend etc combo, you can end up having -20 armor. Then Vanguard will block about 70+ damage actually (if no mistake in my calculations done).
if you are -20 armor. you are dead anyway. a vanguard can not save your ass.
when -20 armor, you should just be running away, during which vanguard is useless either.
Vanguard can be built on Bristleback, Axe and Undying. It just interferes with Spectre's late game. It's horrendously bad on any ranged heroes.
Vasile navi has build vanguard on heroes like night stalker, so dont come with that bullshit, vanguard is situational but good.

looking at my past venomancer plays i used to build Vanguard early and it has good outcomes most of the time... i would like to know if is it still bad for him now? that nerf on his hp regen is annoying.
