FOREWORD & INTRODUCTION

The target audience of this guide is people who play supports or are looking to improve, or start playing more of support like heroes. Venomancer, is a support and this guide should help layout strengths and weakness of the hero along with ways you can maximize your efficiency with him. Sitting at a whopping 53.79% this month, it is in your best interest to at least give him a try.
Some of the advice and opinions expressed in the guide might also help you with a number of other supports but that is for you to decide and probably for another guide.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SKILLS

Not to be expanded as per KawaiiSocks' Guide request but you can quick view them below.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SKILL PROGRESSION AND BUILDS

There are 3 common Venomancer builds and I will touch base on each one as well as combined these with preferred item choices (but not set it stone) that compliment the build. These are as follows.

[*]The Hard Support
[*]The Crazed Pusher
[*]The Aggro-Maniac

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE HARD SUPPORT

MINDSETS:

Your lane of choice is the safe one. You are dedicated to seeing your carry get farm and snag kills. You are stacking camps, you are harassing using that maxed poison sting, and you are scouting blind areas with low level wards but you aren't spamming them so as not to push the lane, take carries farm and feed low level wards to lane opposition. Level one gale is at the ready to provide a quick slow (but no damage) to an on-coming gank party or moving in for a slow on the enemy so you can grab a kill with your lane carry.

Tips & Tricks

Do not farm jungle with spam wards as I see too many people blocking spawns for like 2 minutes which is robbing your carry or team of needed farm. Pull the camp into a safe area where you can ward up without blocking the camp and get additional farm. This technique is used for Ancient Camp farming.

The enemy will enjoy the free wards at a low level, pull them out of position with a "just out of reach" ward seeing if they will take the bait. If they do. Gale the bastard!

STARTING ITEMS

Courier * Healing Salve * 2x Iron Branches * 2x Clarities * Tangos

CORE AND MID GAME ITEMS

Tranquils/Mana Boots * Magic Stick * Mekanism * Forcestaff

OPTIONAL AND LATE GAME ITEMS

Veil of Discord * Sceptre * Halberd

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE CRAZED PUSHER

MINDSETS:

Your lane of choice is the offlane or safelane solo. Your goal and only goal is to shoving down a lane as aggressively as possible robbing the lane of any farm by forcing them under the tower with a lane full of wards waiting for them should they dare to come out. You are pushing with wards and peppering them in the jungle amplifying your farm and forcing down the towers which in turn forces panic stricken team mates to rotate which you see easily with your chaotic warding.

Tips & Tricks

Don't actually go for the tower until you see an opening. Keep the wards just out of tower range so that your creeps and the enemies remain that safe distance and it keeps you close enough that all it will take is a little more pressure and the tower is yours. You are keeping the lane in your favor with timely well positioned wards.

This gets you farm fast so put it towards items that accelerate your push to a swift end.

STARTING ITEMS

Ring of Protection * Tangos * Healing Salve * 2x Clarities

CORE AND MID GAME ITEMS

Aquilla * Power Treads * Mekanism * Drums of Endurance

OPTIONAL AND LATE GAME ITEMS

Necronomicon * Manta Style * Shiva Guard

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

THE AGGRO-MANIAC

MINDSETS:

Your lane of choice is all of them but preferred is the bottom lane whether dire or radiant. Your primary focus is mobility in lanes and helping mid win his lane. You are carrying smokes, teleports, and fast consumables to keep you as out and about as much as is possible.

With maxing gale and poisonous sting you are going in for the kills and you are going in deep. You are playing with a crazed aggression that will pull enemies off-guard and as venomancer this early in the game, you are in your element and prime and you can totally get away with doing it. Also known as "Carrymancer" it is a not truly making you a carry but it helps give you a staggering early game advantage over your opposing team.

Tips & Tricks

Carry a teleport at all times. Mid is your focus. He wins that mid you basically win your game. Smoke around with a fellow support or do it solo if you are going mid so as not to raise undue suspicion. Be crazy, it will pay off. You can afford to play this way till about the 15 minute mark so maximize on this precious time...

...just make sure you team is in on this plan or it can backfire.

STARTING ITEMS

Courier (if required) * Healing Salve * 2x Clarities * Tango * 2x Iron Branches.

CORE AND MID GAME ITEMS

Aquilla * Drums of Endurance * Phase Boots * Euls Sceptre * Bliink Dagger Or Forcestaff

OPTIONAL AND LATE GAME ITEMS

Eye of Skadi * Shadow Blade * Orchid Malevolence *

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

List of what not to get

Refresher - Ultimate doesn't stack as intended, with itself as it has no initial damage count so this is a waste of Gold put to better use in a another item

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

WORKS WELL WITH:

Visage - Vengeful - Juggernaut - Viper

IS WEAK AGAINST:

Viper - Huskar - Natures Prophet - Abbadon

IS GOOD AGAINST:

Aviditiys' Treant, Templar Assassin, Bristleback - Most Strength Melee's
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Havocs' Notes

Venomancer is on the hero list I class as "Stop, Drop, and Pop" where you are, in a teamfight around for long enough to jump in cast your ultimate and gale and survive long enough to get a couple tick hits off on a player but then, you die. The rewards of your sacrifice usually result in a decisive victory for your team as people will be slowed, and have items like blink dagger disabled while losing chunks of their life over time.

Even Black King Bar does not completely protect you against Venomancer as poisonous sting goes through this item. While you have died, you will have secured the teamfight for your team and with any luck might be able to grab a few kills for yourself.

Note to readers:

It will be updated. While I will not be sucked into weeaboo land I will hopefully get melody to assist me on some editing and making it look pretty (no waifu's please)

While I was thinking on a Crystal/Tusk/Venge/Silencer Guide I decided for the venomancer. I am thinking of actually making a guide on how to hard support and do it right. If there is genuine interest I will start it out.

Changelog:

Added Color Coding to make for an easier read.

Dont forget to mention that veno can clear 3-4 stacks in ancient in 1-2 minutes and he will get 1k for fast meka. I did that sometimes and have an earlier meka is so useful :3

Do not farm jungle with spam wards as I see too many people blocking spawns for like 2 minutes which is robbing your carry or team of needed farm. Pull the camp into a safe area where you can ward up without blocking the camp and get additional farm. This technique is used for Ancient Camp farming.

i din't think it's good to keep gale at level 1 early in pubs as you might really need that damage

Hassan

Please level up wards Venomancer players! They are amazing.

Also Melody-San when you level up on Steam you get five additional friend slots. It's quite each to reach level 10 if you just have some items to trade for cards.

How do you farm the ancients on him? Keep pulling them through wards? Does the posion work on them?
