Its a high risk item.
It might be an alright situational item but definitely not core or something you get in a high % of games.
Is it worth it from a numbers standpoint though? Should I just save 800 gold and get a maelstrom, giving many of the positives and none of the negatives?
I'm not particularly good, I'd rather know it's an inefficient build and do something else than labor under the mistaken presumption that it's legit and possibly throw games.
Only a desperation item most of the time. If you think that you are not doing enough DPS on a crit-based carry, then you are already pretty behind and nothing will help you that much really.
I wouldn't do it, the strenght of WK is to live a long time, then die and res and live a longer time. If you buy an item that makes you squishier you're kinda nullifying the power of his ult.
however, Blademail + MoM can be strong making enemy have to switch target when you turn it on. Although people probably don't have "KILL WRAITH KING" on a high priority with those items.
MoM does not increase your health pool, yes it will make your blade mail do more dmg but it will make you take more dmg....
just get wand,treads,armlet,deso,ac and if you feel like it HoT

MoM is a great item if you're ahead on almost every carry hero.
But I would go MJ instead of MoM, you're going to get blown up way too quickly.
+ Life steal isn't really wasted because his life steal isn't a UAM. It's a redundant item but it's not completely wasted

I just played this in a game where I was desperately behind, with moderate success. MoM-Armlet-Abyssal or MoM-Blademail-Armlet-Rad would be ideal
It seems to fill his gap of getting kited and having low IAS for very cheap, while synergizing with Blademail and supplementing WK's low farming speed. The lifesteal is pretty much wasted though, and you can only have the active before or after reincarnation, not both.
