get atleast 4 quas and always ferry tangoes. you have higher base dmg than the kunkka so try to deny as much as possible. try to avoid getting low hp.
mid kunkkas usually have level 1 x mark so try to avoid going near him when he has enough levels to do his x-torrent-boat combo
im a kunkka spammer and the most effective way to beat a kunkka on midlane as a invoker is to stay back and wait for the creepway or wait for tidebringe blows. As xxx says we usually go for a x mark lvl 1 till we hit lvl 6.

I'm pretty sure you can out regen him, but don't get close enough to be x-ed
Honestly don't know if you can beat kunkka if ur solo, u'll need a supports help usually, it's a pretty awful matchup for invoker
